Max works as a freelance designer and programmer in opera, dance and theatre.

As Associate for Tim Lutkin: What’s It All About? Bacharach Reimagined (The Menier Chocolate Factory), The Girls Musical (Leeds Grand Theatre); Elf the Musical (Dominion Theatre); Full Monty (Tour); Rebecca (Tour); Strangers on a Train (Gielgud Theatre).

For Hugh Vanstone: Future Conditional (Old Vic); Closer (Donmar Warehouse); Soho Cinders (Soho  Theatre); Birthday (Royal Court).

For Warren Letton: Wind in the Willows (Vaudeville Theatre/Duchess Theatre).

For Neil Austin: Soldier’s Tale (Tokyo), Liolà (Lyttelton, NT), Josephine and I (Bush Theatre). As Programmer for: Royal Opera House, Hofesh Schecter, English Touring Opera and Grange Park Opera.

His own lighting designs include: The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other (Silk Street, Barbican); Hamlet (Milton Court, Barbican); See What I See (St Clements Hospital).

Max is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
